Overview

This program will summarize the use of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. Physicians will learn how to make treatment decisions in accordance with a patient's ability to comply with prolonged DAPT as well as how to balance ischemic benefit and bleeding risk in real-world practice. Current guidelines and recent clinical trial data on DAPT, particularly in conjunction with next generation drug-eluting stents, will be reviewed.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this program, the attendees will be able to:

  • Weigh the risks and benefits of DAPT in various clinical scenarios
  • Understand guideline recommendations for DAPT during and after PCI
  • Discuss the latest data on DAPT from clinical trials of newer DES
